SCOOTER SHOPPING

When shopping for a scooter you want to be assured you will be purchasing a safe, reliable, legal product from an honest and reliable dealer. Check the scooter for a 17 digit VIN, this tells you the scooter is DOT approved and legal for use in the US. SAFE SCOOTERING

In Missouri, you must be 16 years old and have a valid motor vehicle operators license to legally ride a scooter. For scooters larger than 50cc, a motorcycle endorsement is required. Safety equipment, such as, helmet and eye protection are also required. The Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) offers ScooterSchool which teaches the fundamentals of safe scooter operation and control. ATV REQUIREMENTS

Missouri requires all ATVs be registered and titled by the state motor vehicle registration agency. Riders must be at least 16 for unsupervised riding. DOT approved helmet must be worn. ATVs must have lights and a spark arrestor. On-road use is prohibited except for agricultural or industrial purposes or with a special permit.
